I’m on a plane to NYC on Sunday and it feels like the right moment to dive into what’s going on rather than wait another fortnight.
Here’s what the next few weeks look like.
InsurTech NY – 30th & 31st March
We’ve never really done the pitch circuit.
No accelerators, no pitch days, no stands at events. We’ve always preferred to speak, to join panels, to be in the conversation rather than selling from a booth.
So it feels like a meaningful step that – thanks to a kind invite I’ll be taking to the stage at the InsurTech NY Spring Conference on Tuesday 31st March to introduce Sønr 2.0.
I’m on at 12:15pm – the lunchtime slot 😬
Let’s hope the judges stay around to hear it at the very least.
The theme of the conference this year is The Human Side of Insurance – balancing AI acceleration with human judgment. It’s a topic we’ve spent a long time thinking about at Sønr, and one I’m genuinely looking forward to getting into.
If you’re planning to attend and haven’t got a ticket yet, friends of Sønr can grab 20% off with the code SONR2026 – [register here]
Montreal – 6th, 7th & 8th April
From New York I’m heading up to Montreal – where I’m hoping to turn a brilliantly exciting conversation into a new partnership 🙏
Either way, it’s a great project and good people. More on that when there’s something to share.
Montreal also happens to be the city where I proposed to my wife and so holds a special place. I’ll be there for a few days and have some time on my hands – if you’re based there or passing through, I’d genuinely love to grab a coffee.
From there I’m heading to the slopes for a couple of days before making my way down to Hartford.
InsurTech America Symposium – Hartford, 13th & 14th April
Then it’s onto Hartford for #IAS2026 where we’re proud to be attending as a media partner this year.
It brings together a brilliant mix of insurance executives, founders, investors and technology leaders and consistently delivers well above its billing.
I’ll also be filming for Beyond Boundaries 2026 – our executive interview series on how strategy, innovation and operational delivery is maturing across the market – in Hartford and hopefully New York too.
If you have an interesting story to tell and are comfortable on camera, I’d love to talk.
If you’re heading to IAS and haven’t got a ticket yet – [register here]. And find me on the event app when you’re there.
Sønr 2.0 – Official Beta Launch
This trip isn’t accidental. All of this is happening at a moment when something significant is launching at Sønr.
As many of you will know, for the past ten years we’ve worked quietly and closely with some of the world’s largest insurers – refining how intelligence is gathered, structured, and actually used to make better decisions. Building something we believed could fundamentally change how this industry evolves.
Sønr 2.0 is that thing. And we’re ready to open it up.
It’s an always-on intelligence engine. AI agents that work like a research team – researching, quality-checking, and compounding intelligence around the clock. Ten years of unique, proprietary data underneath it. Our analysts available when you need to go deeper.
And for the first time, accessible to the whole ecosystem – not just the 50 or so enterprise partners we’ve built the business on.
Carriers, brokers, reinsurers, investors, startups, scaleups, consultants. It was built for all of you.
Part of what I’m doing on this trip is opening up our beta to people Stateside who want to get in early and help shape where it goes.
If that’s you – or someone you know – I’d love to hear from you.
Either reply to this email or head straight to the waitlist.
Whilst in beta it’s completely free.
We’re building this with the market, not just for it.
I also sat down with Dan Gordon, our CTO, to talk through what’s actually under the hood – what the market needed in 2018 versus what it needs now, why we threw away a version of what we built along the way, and what it really means to put an AI agent team to work on your intelligence.
It’s on the Sønr website and worth 15 minutes if you want the full picture.
