It’s here. The Insurtech 100 2022. The most authoritative and comprehensive ranking of leading startups, scaleups and innovators driving change across insurance.
Now in its fourth edition, it’s grown to be bigger than ever – borne out of months of work by the Sønr team, researching, analysing and connecting with tens of thousands of companies around the world. The resulting shortlist of companies are then meticulously scored by a set of world-class industry experts to arrive at our final ranking.
The past year has seen immense change. From the record levels of investment and excitement we saw in 2021, we now see growing economic uncertainty, conflict and the stark realities of a changing climate. The result has been an increasingly challenging period for the insurance sector with investment cooling and an imperative to focus on profitability, not just growth.
And yet in spite of these headwinds there is opportunity – as evidenced by the incredible businesses featured in this report.
We also see ESG in particular come to the fore, with purpose driven companies making up a much bigger proportion of the rankings this year. Not only does this show a commitment to our industry driving positive change, globally, but also to how customers interact with insurance.
Our reason for producing these rankings is simple. We want to celebrate, accelerate and highlight all that’s great in our industry. Hopefully you find it an interesting read as well.
