Digital Fineprint overview

Digital Fineprint (DFP) helps create data insight for commercial insurers through the DFP Risk Atlas. The suite of tools includes services for lead generation, customer engagement, product recommendation and intelligent analytics.

By combining data from a client's SME risk portfolio with proprietary and open data sources, DFP creates and serves insights through their own platform, via API or CRMs such as Salesforce. Better understanding of new and existing risks can improve lead selection, engagement and profitability, customer journey and retention at renewal.

Since launch, DFP has worked with the likes of Hiscox, MetLife, QBE and Allianz.

DFP took part in the Allianz accelerator programme in early 2016 and Accenture’s Fintech Innovation Lab in 2017, partnering with Metlife soon after. In 2019 it joined Lloyd's Lab as part of its third cohort.

Midway through 2018, the startup won both the UK final of ACORD's Insurance Innovation Competition and Best InsurTech startup at The Digital Insurer conference.

In 2018 the company was chosen for Salesforce’s Finserve program. The following year, DFP launched Engage, a tool to enable insurers and brokers to manage relationships with SME clients, on the Salesforce AppExchange. Engage was the first Insurtech solution to be integrated with Salesforce.

In August 2019 DFP announced it had launched a new product, Renew, which consists of real-time business tracking software that aims to prevent SMEs being underinsured, and help brokers and insurers provide personalised advice.

In June 2020 it was revealed the Erik Abrahamsson had asked the Board to be 'relieved of his CEO duties'.

In November, Douglas Franklin, DFP's former Commercial Director, became CEO.

In January 2022 Glasgow-based challenger insurance broker Hubb acquired startup Digital Fineprint to boost its effort for a customer-centric approach.The deal will enable Hubb to benefit from DFP's focus on data and business intelligence, and also provide its customers with an enhances quotation process. Hubb was founded in 2019 and is a usage-based broker.
