Broker Buddha overview

Broker Buddha has built an online platform allowing commercial brokers to sell insurance. By creating this solution, brokers are able to increase their retention and close rates, while saving hours of work.

Broker Buddha's platform converts PDF insurance applications into interactive smart forms, enabling them to be pre-filled with data, signed electronically, and are easily viewable by multiple parties if required. Its clients include Brown & Brown and AssuredPartners.

In 2018, Broker Buddha announced the launch of a new quoting platform in partnership with Towerstone Inc., a Dallas-based commercial insurance wholesaler specialising in energy, construction, environmental, property and excess casualty.

As part of the partnership, Towerstone joined the startup's list of launch partners, which include carriers, wholesalers and MGAs. The platform does away with emails in favour of an online portal that helps underwriters manage, track and prioritise submissions, as well as issue quotes and connect with independent agents in real time.

In September 2019 Broker Buddha raised a $4.5m venture round from Vertex Ventures. The new round of funding will be used to help scale the company.

In April 2022 Broker Buddha raised a $5m Series A to increase sales capacity, develop new offerings and accelerate growth, with SiriusPoint leading the round. SiriusPoint later partnered with Broker Buddha to help simplify submissions.
