Based in Johannesburg, JaSure launched in July 2019. The company offers a platform for users of the app to create their own short-term cover solutions. It offers on-demand insurance options for gadgets and other valuables, allowing customers to turn their coverage on and off as and when required. JaSure is underwritten by Santam Insurance.
JaSure offers coverage on mobile phones, laptops, cameras, as well as sports gear, eyewear, camping equipment, bikes, musical instruments and more.
In February 2020 JaSure received investment from Santam Insurance, who also strategically partnered with the startup. JaSure will operate as a juristic representative on Santam’s FSP licences. Santam will offer JaSure’s solution to affinity groups through its digital channels.
