Equipsme

Equipsme provides smart and cost-effective health insurance solutions to UK businesses and their employees. Its plans, which start from £17 a month pp, include a range of useful services such as 24/7 GP access, physio, personalised health check, diagnosis, treatment and stress support.

Along with health insurance partner, AXA PPP Healthcare, they have worked with integrated health services provider, Medical Solutions, on 24-hour GP Access; health tech startup Thriva on data-driven personalised health checks; and Health Assured on offering stress support.

In September 2018, Equipsme raised a £2.5m Series A round, led by Livingbridge (through funds from the Baronsmead Venture Trusts), with participation from Angel Investors.

Amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Equipsme made their health insurance plan free for the self-employed from March until August 1st.

Equipsme set a target to raise £500k for 7.21% equity on Crowdcube in the summer of 2020, for a pre-money valuation of £10.9m. The round was oversubscribed.

In February 2021 Equipsme partnered with Simply Business to offer health insurance plans to small business owners, the self-employed, and their families after a successful 2020 pilot. Plans can be bought online in minutes directly from Simply Business, either with or separately to their business insurance.

In March 2021 the business revealed that they had renewal rates of 108% due to some companies increasing how many employees they buy Equipsme for or upgraded the level of cover at renewal. The company also saw new business YoY growth of 301% in February.
