ForestCar

ForestCar was a UK-based service that offers car owners free airport parking in exchange for renting out their vehicles while they were away. The company donated a share of their revenue to reforestation in hopes to create a global community that contributed to a sustainable future.

Users could book their parking through the ForestCar website and receive free airport parking even if ForestCar aren't able to find a renter for the vehicle. Airport passengers could then leave their car at the designated ForestCar carpark and sign in with their staff. While travelling the company would then clean, rent and clean your car again by the time you came back. While your car was with ForestCar it was fully monitored and insured while on the road. When the car owner returned they were able to pick up their car where they left it and get paid for renting it or choose to donate some of the earnings to planting more trees.

ForestCar was partnered with The Eden Project to ensure their revenue was going towards reforestation across the globe. The company also partnered with Cuvva, a pay-as-you-go car insurance provider in order to make sure customers vehicles were fully looked after while in ForestCar's hands.

The company raised $15K over two funding rounds and their two primary investors were Pitch@Palace and Startupbootcamp InsurTech London. The company also intended to launch operations at Manchester Airport through partnership with Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) at the start of 2019.

ForestCar announced in July 2019 that it would be shutting down on 31st July 2019.
