Vertex Ventures

Vertex Ventures is a global network of funds with teams in the U.S., South Asia, China, and Israel that combine local expertise with a global perspective. It is a core unit of the Singapore state-backed Temasek Holdings.

Vertex was an early backer (Series A) of Grab, the Singapore-based ride-hailing company worth more than $10b.

In the summer of 2019 it was announced that Vertex Ventures, alongside Japanese investors, would launch a $770m fund to help build tech startups into unicorns. Japanese investors, including Risa Partners and Aozora Bank, will contribute 20% of the fund - it is the first Vertex fund in which foreign investors have been able to take such a stake. The fund will be equally active across the regions of the US, China, India and SE Asia and Israel.
