Wilov overview

Wilov is a fully digital car insurance provider catered specifically for drivers who don't use their car every day. It offers a pay-when-you-drive service.

Created in 2017 by Anne-Claude Pont, Philippe Breuils and Pierre Stanislas, the start-up offers motorists a monthly "all risks" package,  plus a 24 hours driving service that is triggered as soon as the car is used. Once the contract is signed, the insured receives a connected badge, to install in the car. The badge is then activated by bluetooth on a driver's mobile, and by geolocation.

Launched at Station F and backed by Suravenir (a subsidiary of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa), the company has said they hope to expand internationally.

The company raised €600K at the end of 2016 from private investors and Bpifrance granted the company €30K. In 2019 Wilov raised €3.2m from Arkéa and Allianz France (via the InnovAllianz fund). It plans to use this money for R&D, team growth, and to help launch new partnerships.
