Find out moreRGAX is the transformation engine of the Reinsurance Group of America, Inc. (RGA). Launched in 2015, it leverages the skills, resources and insight of RGA to incubate and accelerate new products and services that reshape today's life insurance ecosystem. RGAx has three regional teams around the world: RGAX Americas, RGAX EMEA, and RGAX Asia. Its lines of business include data/analytics, digital distribution, customer engagement, and insurance services.
Since its founding in 2015, RGAX has collaborated with insurers and other strategic partners to launch a number of businesses across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, including CXA Group, Fabric Technologies, Getsurance, and Finaeo.
In 2018 RGAX acquired LOGiQ3 Group, a group of companies (including APEXA and Tindall Associates Inc) that provides technology, consulting, and outsourcing solutions to the North American life insurance and reinsurance industry. LOGiQ3 Group, with approximately 100 employees in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., will maintain a separate operation and retain employees in their current roles.
In 2019, RGAX was revealed to be one of the founders of AsiaPac InsurTech Lab (APIL), a co-operative focused on creating innovative solutions for the insurance industry in Asia. APIL's other founders include Qibot Technology, Taiping Financial Services, Huibaoxian and Zhikan Technology. The core objectives of APIL are to create an industry platform for learnings and thought leadership, to develop relevant standards for NLP and RPA, product two scientific research studies annually, and organise at least one public event each year.
Also in 2019, RGAX announced it had two winners for its annual Big Ideas Competition - the first time in three years that more than one winner had been announced. The two winners, SkinVision and PatchAI, won a cash prize of €10k. RGAX initially launched the Big Ideas Competition in 2017 to promote innovative approaches that solve issues in the life, health and retirement markets. The competition is judged by senior leadership team members from RGA, as well as other large insurance groups such as Generali.
Towards the end of 2019, RGAX revealed it had completed a blockchain PoC for reinsurance with Mutual of Omaha. The companies tested automating reinsurance transactions using smart contracts and distributed ledger technology.
In May 2020 it was revealed RGAX had chosen Socotra as its policy administration system, with the latter developing new life insurance products via Greenhouse Life, RGAX's life insurance company. The two had previously worked together on an accidental death product in 2017.
In November 2020, RGAX launched Tngible, a wellness platform to help life insurers better connect with policyholders. It leverages real-time data, health education and personalised products and can integrate with wearables and other smart devices.
In November 2022, RGA announced Plan V Care, which is RGAX UK's new cancer-only D2C product for female millennials is now available in the UK. The product will provide financial protection in case of cancer for females. The new product includes an unrestricted one-off payment, as well as access to informative, supportive video and written guides.
