Onduo overview

Onduo is a digital healthcare company that uses data to help people with diabetes. The company was founded in 2016 as a joint venture between Verily (a subsidiary of Alphabet focused on life sciences and healthcare) and Sanofi.

Onduo is a virtual care program with tools, coaching and clinical support to help people with diabetes, hypertension, weight loss and diabetes prevention. The Onduo Welcome Kit provides tools and tests (including a connected blood glucose meter and test strips) and an app that can track glucose levels and help users reach goals and find patterns and reactions. Each use is also matched with a Care Lead, who can be contacted through the app, text or call.

Onduo was created by parent companies Sanofi, a global biopharmaceutical company, and Verily, Alphabet's life sciences company.

In October 2019 Onduo partnered with John Hancock and Verily to launch John Hancock Aspire with Vitality, a life insurance product designed for those living with diabetes. The program will offer Vitality's reward scheme, and Onduo's monitoring kit and virtual care team.

In May 2021 the company expanded into mental and behavioural health, offering access to psychiatrists, therapists, and mental health coaches.

In September 2021 Onduo partnered with Fitbit to provide Onduo members with device to help them manage their holistic health.

In February 2022 Onduo partnered with Highmark Health for the latter's Well360 Diabetes Management virtual care program. The joint pilot of Well360 Diabetes Management conducted by Highmark Health and Onduo saw 92% of participating members with a baseline A1C of 9.0% or greater improve their A1C by an average of 2.7 points upon follow-up.
