EastWest Banking Corporation overview

EastWest Banking Corporation, established in 1994 as a subsidiary of leading Philippine conglomerate Filinvest Development Corporation, is one of the country's largest and fastest-growing banks. Throughout its 400+ stores nationwide, EastWest provides a range of banking services, ranking in the top five in credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans. 

In 2015, the bank announced it had entered into a bancassurance joint venture with Belgium’s leading insurer, Ageas, to form EastWest Ageas Life Insurance Corporation. The following year, they would register and commence operations of Troo, a local life insurtech. 

In 2016 also, EastBank expanded its operations with the acquisition of the retail banking business of Standard Chartered Bank Philippines.

As of 2017, the bank has PhP 317.6 billion (approx. $6.1b) assets under management, with a net income of PhP 5.1 billion (approx. $98.4m).
