Find out moreWeimai is a developer of a health application platform intended to provide medical and health services. The company's health application platform offers internet-based appointment, distribution, maternal and child disease management, grading diagnosis and treatment as well as remote diagnosis, and medical records management, providing users with a family doctor application in every home.
Whilst its main product is online registration and consultation, founder Qiu Jialin has previously stated that Weimai differentiates from other digital healthcare companies in China by offering services such as data management and online payment processing, and by focusing on third and fourth-tier cities.
The company currently covers over 70 cities, 1,000 hospitals and clinics and more than 10m patients.
The startup is part of Internet Plus Healthcare, a plan for Beijing to modernise China's healthcare system by optimising resources and reducing costs.
In June 2019 it was announced that Weimai had raised a $100m Series C, led by IDG Capital. The company's founder Qiu Jialin stated it would use the funding to expand its network of partnerships with hospitals, clinics and service providers, and to invest in internet technology, healthcare big data and AI.
