Dacadoo overview

dacadoo is a Swiss company that encourages behavioural changes to help improve fitness and health. It has developed the dacadoo Health Score platform, an integrated view of lifestyle components such as physical activity, nutrition, stress and sleep, to help users manage their health in a centralised manner. The company partners with health and life insurers and corporate health service providers to help them engage with their clients.

dacadoo calculates a user's personal dacadoo health score, an indicator of their current health status in a number between 1 (low) and 1000 (high). It is calculated through the user's own perception of their quality of life, their lifestyle choices and their activities. dacadoo offers its own tracker application called the “dacadoo Tracker” to automatically track all activities without manual entry on the system, available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry in the respective stores. dacadoo also allows to use other fitness tracking devices and can connect to external biosensor devices, such as weight scales, blood pressure cuffs or heart rate bands. Gamification principles with level systems, achievements and rewards, fitness leagues and challenges have been incorporated in the platform as well as group dynamics through its own social network.

In 2018, dacadoo announced a partnership with Generali Greece, which will see them promote health and wellness across the nation. The following year, also, its location-based walking game, dacadoo GO, teamed up with the UAE's Damian Health Insurance to encourage good habits and good causes. As a result, they challenge the nation's population to hit a combined total of one billion steps in four weeks. When the target is reached, Damian Health will donate 500,000 Dirhams towards the UAE's Special Olympics.
