GroupAssur is an MGA servicing specialised insurance needs of brokers and customers across Canada. The company provides underwriting services for complex insurance policies on behalf of Canadian insurance carriers, international insurance carriers, and Lloyd's of London insurance syndicates.
GroupAssur was founded in 1993. It acquired CFI Underwriting Managing in 2009, enabling the company to become nationwide. The company became independent and diversified in 2014. GroupAssur offers a number of business and residential products, and specialising in transport and marine.
In 2017, GroupAssur launched GroupAssur Transport, specialising in Long Haul Trucking.
In 2018 and 2019, the company made three acquisitions of Canadian broking companies, expanding its reach.
